Uya-uy丂(僂儎僂僀)

Uya-uy is a traditional Ifugao dance which depicts a celebration of a bountiful harvest. In this dance, men portray the character of a mighty bird while women stamp and scratch the soil to signify the earth where they came from. The Ifugaos are the builders of the famous rice terraces, which is now considered as one of the eight wonders of the world. Ifugaos are said to be the 乬children of the earth.乭 Actually, the term Ifugao is derived from the word 乬ipugaw乭 which literally means 乬coming from the earth.乭
