Dressed in Serbian national folk clothing, students of Tokyo University for Foreign Studies presented group 乬Silangan乭 with folk dances from Central Serbia and traditional Japanese-Philippine dances. They learned Serbian dances thanks to the choreographer, Dejan Milisavljevic Zvecanac, artistic director of Cultural Society 乬Branko Cvetkovic乭 who visited Japan in October. Performance was organized with assistance from Etsuko Tsunozaki, wife of ex-Ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Toshio Tsunozaki.
乬This international concert is not only important for 乬Branko Cvetkovic乭 but for the entire country because in this way, Serbia presents to the world its cultural heritage. Japanese students are delighted with our folk dances, they respect us greatly and they are so dedicating, they are practicing every day while they are in Serbia. They invited us to be their guests in Tokyo next May乭, said Milisavljevic.
This is Silangan乫s second visit to Serbia. Last December, 2011 they performed in gratitude for the support that Serbian people provided for the victims of earthquake and tsunami.

<塸栿亜- Audience thrilled by performance of students from Japan. Performance was opened by dancers from Cultural Association 乬Branko Cvetkovic乭, performing folk dances from Pcinje region of Serbia. After the, Japanese dancers in Serbian traditional outfits took the stage, dancing traditional Serbian dances. Guests from Japan also presented the culture of their country. Silangan will have several concerts, on all of them audience will be able to enjoy the performances of Japanese-Philippine and Serbian traditional dances.

- Ms. Etsuko Tsunozaki, who is connecting our and Japan乫s students of music, says she likes our winters and sounds of 乬Sto se bore misli moje乭 (why are my thought conflicting, srb) song. Etsuko Tsunozaki, wife of ex-Ambassador of japan to Serbia, is again in Belgrade, this time as organizer of series of joint concerts with Cultural Association 乬Branko Cvetkovic乭 and students from Tokyo University for Foreign Studies. Besides the Kolarac, they will perform on the faculty of Philology and in Pozarevac. 乬When I left Belgrade in February this year, I started an initiative to enable the young people, who ere here and fell in love with your culture, to promote Serbia乫s art, tradition and culture, as well as to encourage exchange of Japanese and Serbian artists乭, said Tsunozaki. Wife of ex-Ambassador is an artist herself, she plays violin and she grew fond of local music. 乬I like traditional Serbian music. I like 乬Sto se bore misli moje乭, a very emotional song. I played it on the concert on the Faculty of Philology but I also like 乬Kad padne prvi sneg乭, 乬Sumadijski vez乭 and of course 乬Tamo daleko乭. I also like some popular Serbian songs乭, said Tsunozaki. According to her, Serbs and Japanese have many things in common. 乬Serbs are hospitable and modest, in a similar way like the Japanese. We are modest and that is considered to be honorable, I felt something similar here. Serbs are never arrogant, and often they are more modest than expected, considering the talent they posses, those are the shared characteristics of both.乭 Ms. Tsunozaki emphasized that she misses Belgrade and that she is glad to be back. 乬Belgrade is truly European city, with lovely architecture, indication of rich history. I like your climate, winters are cold but not Siberian cold. Food is very good, fantastic choice of vegetables, fruit, even meat. it is cozy, and with good people, what more could one want?乭, she said. Etsuko also likes Belgrade乫s rivers and Kalemegdan. It gives me great joy to see the confluence of Sava into Danube. I never missed an opportunity to take my guests to see the Kalemegdan park, and to have lunch on 乬Kalemegdanska terasa乭. The fort itself has a rich history and the surrounding nature is beautiful.乭
