The 3rd International Conference
SOAS, University of London, 16-18 February 2012
The 3rd international conference of the Consortium for Asian and African Studies (CAAS) was held at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, UK, from the 16th to the 18th of February, 2012. CAAS consists of seven world-leading research/educational institutions for Asian and African studies, and each institution is obliged to host annual conferences in turn. This 3rd conference was organized following the 2nd conference hosted by INALCO of France in 2010.
Under the theme of "Making a Difference," about 40 researchers from CAAS member institutions (INALCO, Leiden University, NUS, SOAS, Colombia University, HUFS and TUFS) made presentations on their research. From TUFS, two professors and five young researchers participated in the conference.
It was not only a precious opportunity for the young researchers to exchange information with the world-class professors and other young researchers in the field, but also a stimulating opportunity to carry out their research further.
This conference was supported by JSPS International Training Program (ITP).
