TUFS Participates in the 5th GAFSU Presidents’ Forum

From October 23 to 25, 2025, the 5th Presidents’ Forum of the Global Alliance of Foreign Studies Universities (GAFSU), hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University, was held at Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. TUFS was represented by Vice President Toru AOYAMA and Personnel Division Chief Mr. Yasunori KOINUMA.

GAFSU was established in 2015 at the initiative of Beijing Foreign Studies University, originally comprising 20 universities primarily from Asia. TUFS has been a founding member since its inception, and the official signing ceremony was held in 2017.

At the main forum, Vice President Aoyama delivered a lecture titled “Integrating AI into Language Learning: Navigating the Challenges in Higher Education,” in which he explored both the opportunities and challenges of foreign language education in the age of AI, grounded in the educational philosophy of TUFS.

The forum welcomed nearly 170 participants from 27 countries, fostering vibrant discussions on the future of international higher education. Mr. Yasunori KOINUMA, Personnel Division Chief, also attended from TUFS and engaged in meaningful exchanges with fellow participants.
