The TUFS Global Community Meeting was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Sunday, November 3, 2024, with the support of our Global Japan Office at Rio de Janeiro State University. The meeting is part of the TUFS Global Community Project, which aims to build networks between TUFS faculty and staff and alumni, and to support current students studying abroad.
Special Adviser to the President and Institute of Japan Studies Professor Tomomi Otsu and Office for International Affairs Designated Administrative Expert Ruby Wilson visited Brazil for the Japanese Language Education event and Study in Japan Fair held at Japan House, S?o Paulo. The TUFS Global Community Meeting was attended by a total of 28 people, including the two TUFS staff members, TUFS Rio de Janeiro Global Japan Office (GJO) staff, two TUFS students currently studying in Brazil, and other alumni studying or working in Rio de Janeiro, namely two staff members of the Consulate of Japan in Rio de Janeiro.
Seniors and juniors enjoyed sharing valuable stories and memories with each other, encouraging future study abroad experiences. The meeting was also an opportunity for TUFS to further deepen its network in Brazil through intergenerational exchange and it is hoped that this network will continue to grow.
