Special Lecture by Polish Stage Director Krzysztof Popio?ek
October 17, 2024
On Thursday, October 10, 2024, we held a special lecture event, inviting Krzysztof Popio?ek, a stage director from the Teatr KANA theater in Szczecin, Poland, in collaboration with the Polish Cultural Institute in Tokyo.
This event was held as a special lecture to mark the start of the Japan tour of the Teatr KANA production “Possible Worlds”, which was performed at Theater X (Kai) in Ryogoku, Tokyo from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th October. Mr. Popio?ek spoke passionately about his unique theory of theater based on his own stage philosophy, with the theme of “The Universality of Stories in the Crisis of Narrative”.
After the lecture, the audience asked a wide range of questions, including questions about the commonality of metaphors that transcend national borders and the differences in theatrical culture between Poland and Japan, and the event was a great success.
