Beijing Foreign Studies University Delegation from the Asian Studies Institute Visits TUFS

On Thursday, January 11, 2024, a delegation from Beijing Foreign Studies University, one of our partner universities, visited TUFS as part of an academic project to investigate the educational status of Asian languages.

Faculty members of the School of Language and Culture Studies responded to the survey. Dean Takayuki Miyake, Professor Haruko Kato, Professor Reiko Suzuki, Professor Yoshifumi Mizuno, and Associate Professor Hiroki Nomoto participated in the survey and gave explanations and exchanged opinions with each other in response to interviews about the state of education of Asian languages at TUFS.

The delegation also visited the TUFS on the following day (Friday, December 12) and observed classes in their major languages of Lao, Malaysian, and Mongolian. After that, they visited the library and the reference room of the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa to investigate the status of the library's Asian language collection.
