TUFS Vice President Visits Columbia University in the City of New York

On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, TUFS Vice President for International Affairs Jun MATSUKUMA visited New York City as a part of the United Nations Study Tour, a winter semester intensive course. While in New York, he met with Professor Carol Gluck and Associate Professor Lien-Hang T. Nguyen of Columbia University to discuss the Consortium for Asian and African Studies and Education (CAAS) in which TUFS and Columbia University are participating. Professor Gluck is the former coordinator of CAAS and Associate Professor Nguyen is the current coordinator. Since the annual CAAS symposium is scheduled to be held at TUFS this November and at Columbia University next October, there was a lively exchange of views on the symposium. Further strengthening of CAAS collaboration is expected in the future.
