Shanghai International Studies University Administration Visits TUFS

On Thursday the 1st and Tuesday the 6th of August, 15 members of the academic administration of the Shanghai International Studies University (China) visited TUFS. This visit was a training visit with the aim of observing the operation and management of TUFS, and is the first trip of its kind over the 30+ year relationship between TUFS and the Shanghai International Studies University.

On the first (Thursday), TUFS Vice President MATSUKUMA Jun gave a welcoming speech, which was followed by presentations on management policy, inter-university relations and societal contributions from representatives of each division of the TUFS administration. After this, the visitors toured the Research Institute of Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa and the TUFS Library, all while listening closely to explanations given by TUFS staff. On the sixth (Tuesday), an introduction to the exchange programs of TUFS was given, which was followed by a tour of the remainder of the campus.

This visit turned out to be educational for both universities, as both sides could actively exchange their opinions. The participants of this training visit wish to analyze their results and adopt measures that can be applied to issues at the Shanghai International Studies University.
