Students organize and conduct online exchange events with Ukrainian students

On May 29, 2022, the first online exchange event, Ukraine Day 1, between TUFS and Ukrainian students was held as part of TUFS’ support for Ukraine.

This event was jointly organized by the TUFS student international exchange group TUFCOMMU and LET’S, another TUFS student group that provides tandem learning opportunities. A total of 45 students from TUFS and various Ukrainian universities participated in this first online exchange event. The coordinator of Global Japan Office Ukraine* also cooperated in planning the event.

In addition to Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, which has an agreement with TUFS, participants came from Oles Honchar Dnipro National University in Dnipro in the south, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University in the capital Kyiv, and Kyiv National Linguistic University. The participants also had the opportunity to interact with each other through presentations on Japanese anime culture.

Students are planning two more online exchange meetings in June and July.
