Notice on the Full Summer Vacation

In order to help with the realization of a low-carbon society we will have a full summer vacation from August 10 to August 16. Through this we also hope to aid the stopping of global warming and save energy. Offices will be closed and access to TUFS’ campus will be restricted during this time. We ask for your cooperation.

1) About the closing of the offices and stopping of certificate issuing

Due to the summer holiday, the counter, telephone and e-mail services, and various certificate issuing services (including automatic-issuing machines) will be suspended. Also, certificate issuing (including those done on the machine) will not be available.

Period: August 10 (Thu) - August 16 (Wed)
Educational Affairs Office window down period: August 10 (Thu.) - August 20 (Sun.)

*For the number of days required for the issuance of various certificates (https://www.tufs.ac.jp/alumni/certificate.html), please refer to the Application for Certificates for Graduates.
※Certificates issued by the exchange students department take between seven to ten days to be sent.

２）Campus Access restrictions

Restricted period：
Other than faculty and staff: August 10 (Thu) - August 16 (Web)
Faculty and staff: August 11 (Fri) - August 16 (Web)
(Power outage on August 11 (Fri.) due to periodic inspection of high-voltage power receiving and transforming facilities)

Restricted area: All Fuchu campus’ building (except TUFS International Residence)

Please note that faculty and staff cannot use their campus card to unlock building entrances and exits.

３）Student Support facilities that will be closed in these dates

The following facilities will be closed from August 10 (Thu) to August 20 (Sun).

  • TUFS Student Mobility Center
  • Office of Japanese Language Center for International Students
  • Health Care Center
  • Student Inquiries Room (Open on August 17 and 18)
  • Global Career Center
  • Volunteer Space（VOLAS）(Open on August 17 and 18)

　The Academic Support Center will be closed during the month of August.

４）Notice on the closing of the library

TUFS’ library will be closed during the following date.

Period: August 10 (Thu) - August 16 (Wed), August 19 (Sat), and August 20 (Sun)

※Automatic doors will not be operating so the book return post cannot be used from August 9 (Wed) 17:00 to August 17 (Thu) 9:00.

５）Graduate Student Research Room (Room 401)

Graduate Student Research Rooms (Room 401, Research and Lecture Building) will not be available during the following period due to building access restrictions.

August 10 (Thu) - August 16 (Wed)

６） Co-op stores

All TUFS’ university co-op stores will be closed during the following period.

Period: August 11 (Thu) - August 20 (Sun)

Stores will be operating shorter hours from July 24 to September 30. (They are closed on weekends and holidays)

  • Book shop 12:00 - 13:30 (Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)
  • First floor cafeteria 11:30-13:30 (Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)
  • Seikyo 12:00 -13:30 (Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)
  • Second floor cafeteria will be closed until September 30
