th
April 2017, as part of the Year of Japan-India Friendly Exchanges, Shobhana Radhakrishna and Ravi Chopra, overseers for the Gandhian Forum for Ethical Corporate Governance in Delhi, India, visited TUFS and gave a lecture entitled "Transformational leadership of Mahatma Gandhi and its relevance in contemporary world".
Including students of the School of Language and Culture Studies majoring in Hindi as well as students of the Dean's Office, School of International and Area Studies and auditing students, around 50 attended and listened with enthusiasm. The two lecturers spoke about and posed questions to the students on the ideology of non-violent protest of Mahatma Gandhi (1969-1948), and how many great figures in the world he has influenced up to now, as well as how we are currently in an era when need for these ideas is greater than ever.
This lecture was part of just a short visit taken out of our guests' busy schedules, however it left a profound impression and was a big motivation for the students who may form a bridge between Japan and India in the future.
