On the 28th of October 2015 (Wednesday), the fifth Global Japan Office* was established at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and an opening ceremony was held. At the ceremony, the president of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, president Tateishi of TUFS and others involved with both Universities attended. After a meeting in the president’s office, both presidents gave their ceremonial address and then the sign unveiling ceremony took place.
The office has been established in the Japanese dean’s office and not only to carry out support to overseas students from both countries, but we are planning to hold introduction to Japan events. In Korea where it is said that there are many people learning Japanese, we will conduct activities that go further afield than just Japanese language and culture.
*At this University, TUFS Super Global University initiative “Through the strengthening of influential voice from Japan to the world” in order to continue “University Global support” From this point on for 10 years we have established “Global Japan Office” which will be the base for “Japanese research and Japanese education” in major overseas partner Universities.
