On October 17th and 18th, TUFS Japanese and exchange students joined a local culture festival which took place at the Momijioka Bunka Center (Literally, Momijioka Culture Center) and interacted with local residents.
A TUFS official student circle, “Femme Café” also took part in the festival and offered hot coffee and coffee beans. The circle has conducted activities aiming at the independence of Rwandan women. At stage events, Syrian exchange students played the guitar, Egyptian exchange students sung “Hana wa Saku” (Literally, a Flower Will Bloom). They received applause by from the audience. In addition, these students learned how to fold Origami, Japanese paper craft, enjoying Japanese culture.
This two-day festival was a good opportunity to introduce student’s activities to local residents as well as to strengthen ties between them.
