Hungarian Folk Dance Taught in Class
July 1, 2015
On Friday, June 26th, Junko Kamiya, a Hungarian folk dance specialist, was invited to a Hungarian language class (part of The Global Liberal Arts Program, taught by Part-time lecturer Hajime Oshima). She taught students how to perform a folk dance.
The students learned about Hungarian culture and climate through videos, maps and brochures, and then danced “Hold, hold, fényes lánc"(Moon, moon, shiny chain) in a circle, singing in the Hungarian language. Through the music, students deepened their understanding of Hungarian culture and tradition.
