TUFS Presidents Attends 5th Japan-Russia Forum of Rectors

On March 3rd, the 5th Japanese-Russian Forum of Rectors was held at Plaza Heisei Meeting Facilities in the Tokyo International Exchange Center. Minoru Tateishi, the TUFS president, Koji Miyazaki, the executive director for Education, Research, and International Strategies, and Kazuyoshi Suzuki, the Special Executive Advisor to the President, attended the meeting.
This annual meeting, which started in May 2009 in Tokyo, has been held alternatively both in Russia and Japan. Since its inception, TUFS has been an executive committee member.
This year, 20 participants from 11 Russian institutes and 100 Japanese attendees from 30 organizations took part in the meeting and talked about environmental and food problems which Japanese and Russian universities have in common and their solutions, and efforts to improving exchanges between the two countries.
President Tateishi explained about exchange projects between TUFS and Russian partner universities. The projects are part of the TUFS Top Global University Project adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in fiscal 2014. He also expressed his desire to continuously to expand exchanges with Russia.
