TUFS Global Community Meeting Takes Place in Istanbul, Turkey
March 13, 2015
On February 14th, the TUFS Global Community Meeting was held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Supported by the Turkish branch of Tokyo Gaigokai (literally, Tokyo Foreign Language Society), this meeting took place as part of the TUFS Global Community Project which is organized by the TUFS Office for International Academic Strategy.
The purpose of this meeting was to develop a network between TUFS faculty members and graduates and also to support TUFS exchange students in Turkey.
About thirty participants talked about recent developments at TUFS and life in Turkey. Current TUFS students studying in Turkish universities, former TUFS Turkish language teachers and graduates participated. They came from not only from Istanbul, but also from other cities such as Ankara. TUFS president Tateishi, vice president Hayashi, and vice president Soma were among the participants.
The meeting was conducted in a friendly atmosphere: many young members of the Turkish branch of Tokyo Gaigokai enjoyed a reunion with their teachers. TUFS current students deepened relations with graduates from a variety of institutions, including local companies and the embassy. For current students, the meeting was a valuable opportunity to think about their future career.
