A "Gathering of Brazilian Literature" is Held with the Invitation of Brazilian Authors
April 8, 2013
On Monday, October 29, a “Gathering of Brazilian Literature,” hosted by the Brazilian Embassy of Japan and the TUFS’ Portuguese Major, was held at TUFS amidst invitees, Christofan Teza, Luis Lufat, and Tatiana Saran Levi, representatives of modern Brazilian literature.
After friendly discussions between the above 3 invitees, Brazilian ministers, and TUFS’ President Kameyama, the invitees presented 3 workshops, oriented towards TUFS students. Students majoring in Portuguese grappled with “writing short stories” and “interpreting short stories,” while other students challenged “reciting poems” in Portuguese. Approximately 50 students attended the workshops, and presented on what they learned during their lunch breaks.
Moreover, a symposium was held in the afternoon, where the 3 Brazilian authors spoke about Brazilian literature and the worlds of their individual works. Approximately 100 students attended the symposium, and listened intently to thoughts and views regarding Brazilian literature, which are unable to be heard on a daily basis, before engaging in an active question and answer session.
