Culture Introduction by International Students is Held
October 21, 2013
The TUFS International Student Support Association has held events where international students introduce their own culture twice a year since 2005. This year, on July 10, the first event took place in Cafe Castalia at Agora Global. After the address by TUFS President Tateishi, students from Brazil, Sri Lanka and Myanmar introduced their cultures using Power Point slides. Then, in each booth, they served drinks, sweets, salad, etc. which are popular in their own countries. The students themselves prepared those foods and drinks by ordering from their countries or purchasing them at shops selling imported foods.
The international students answered several questions from the participants about the contents of their presentations and the ingredients and recipes of the sweets, and they enjoyed getting to know each other.
International students and Japanese students, 200 in all, participated in the event, and they interacted and deepened mutual understanding through not only cultural introduction, but also the cuisine of each country.
