Professor Masato Iizuka receives an award as a Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research judge from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science
November 14, 2013
Professor Masato Iizuka, who works for TUFS Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa, received an award as a "2014 Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research judge" by the independent administrative agency Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
JSPS, which gives out Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, is attempting to improve the quality of the screening in order to evaluate fairly. As part of this scheme, JSPS looks into the screening after the year's screening is finished, and commends committee members who gave meaningful evaluation.
This year, 124 out of the approximately 5,300 committee members who implemented the initial screening (documentary examination) were awarded including Professor Iizuka. Professor Iizuka is the first TUFS professor to be commended by JSPS.
