Student Life at PCS
<International Residence Halls No.1, 2 & 3>
TUFS offers its international students the option of living in International Residence Halls.? You may apply for it once you are formally accepted to the program.? Depending on the availability, PCS students may rent a private room during his/her studies at TUFS (up to 6 months). During the 6 months, students will search and arrange for an accomodation outside the campus.?

<Getting Help>
Whenever the student needs help with anything about PCS, TUFS or living in Japan, there are several people here to help.? The officers at the Student Exchange Division are there to help foreign students with any issues that come up.? The Graduate Students’ Counter of the Education Affairs Division will assist them with academic issues.
For questions relating specifically to PCS, the PCS assistant is in the PCS office everyday to offer guidance and assistance to students.?
Finally, the university provides the foreign students with a private tutor to help students with Japanese language as well as all aspects of adjusting to the life in Japan and at TUFS.
<Using the Graduate Students’ room>
On the 4th floor of the Research & Lecture building you can find the Graduate Students’ Research room and Lounge.? The room houses many PCs, desks and lockers, and some private meeting rooms.? There is two printesr for student’s use (copy card is provided to each student every year)
<The Student Store “COOP”>
The student store sells school supplies, snacks, some electronics, travel packages, and books and magazines, sometimes at a discount to outside stores.? You can also buy discounted (for students) movie or event tickets.
<Eating at the Cafeteria>
There are 2 floors of the cafeteria plus a nicer restaurant on the second floor where professors often eat.? The bottom floor has a larger variety of food, Japanese and otherwise, including a section at the end for various types of noodle dishes.? Upstairs focuses on pastas, curry-rice, prepared foods and drinks, snacks and ice cream.
<Exercise, Clubs and Activities>
There is a jogging track with a large sports area in the center of it, baseball field, and 5 story gym on campus with a weightlifting room and dance practice rooms in the basement.? The gym also accommodates basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, badminton, table tennis, kendo, judo, aikido, cheerleading, and several sports clubs or teams (clubs are usually more informal, friendly, and only meet 1-2 times a week).?
TUFS also has teams for rugby, American football, football, baseball, ultimate Frisbee, men’s and women’s lacrosse, crew, swimming, and Japanese archery.? These teams meet on or off campus. ?Most of these teams are made up of primarily Japanese undergraduates, but some PCS students have joined them and report having a very good experience.?
