It was an amazing night. TUFS students were invited to participate in the Kurayami festival in Fuchu. Mr. Nakano and his sister were great supporters for the student exchange program between African universities and TUFS.
Five exchange students (Themba and Annet from University of Zambia, Patrick, Amisi, and Ines from PIASS), one master course (Peace and Conflict Studies) student (Shukulu from PIASS), and Professor Horman Chitonge (invited researcher from the University of Cape Town) participated in the Kurayami festival, a great annual festival held by the Ohkunitama Shrine in Fuchu city.
The Happis (traditional cloth for festivals) were presented by Mr. Nakano to the students, who loved the style.
With Mr. Nakano and his sister.
Huge drums and massive crowds in the festival.
Thanks to the arragement of Mr. Nakano, we had a chance to draw a Dashi (festival car). It was a really great experience for the students.
Many many thanks to Mr. Nakano and her sister. It was really a wonderful night.
Here is the report written by Amissi from PIASS (Rwanda).
